Electrical Short Circuit Causes Fire in Semper Timur

Electrical short circuit caused fire on three rent-houses on Jalan Sungai Begog RT 06/03, Semper Timur Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Monday (10/21).

North Jakarta and Seribu Island Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Rahmat Kristantio, said his side received incident report at 10:59 AM through command centre.

Electrical Short Causes Fire at Pulogadung Industrial Area

Rahmat continued, after the first team arrived at the location at around 11:08 AM, they immediately handled it. As a result, after extinguishing for 44 minutes, the fire was finally controlled and extinguished at around 11:52 AM.

"We totally deployed six firetrucks with 40 personnel," he said.

North Jakarta and Seribu Island Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Fire Handling and Rescue Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman, explained the fire incident was firstly seen by residents who were passing an empty house at the location.

"Residents saw smoke coming from inside the house and reported it to firefighters," he explained.

Gatot continued that the incident did not cause casualties. Of those three rent-houses, two of them were empty.

"Electrical short circuit came from one of the empty houses," he stated.
